I'm trying not to get too overly excited here, but I may have found a real gem. I found a property with a large acreage, access to fresh water, several out buildings, lots of tillable garden space, and plenty of forest cover too. The house is listed as needing repairs, and the real estate agent I emailed this morning didn't have any specifics on what exactly that meant. The price is almost too good to be true, and the lack of photos and information on the actual house is a big red flag, but I'm remaining optimistic. Tony put in the paperwork to see if we could get pre-approved for this lower amount. He's working 12+ hour shifts today and tomorrow, so we may not get an answer until Friday. We were turned down last year, but at that time Tony was still working part time. Now he's an assistant manager working 50 hours a week. I'm hoping this makes enough of a difference to squeak by and get approved. For this property, a lot will depend on what is wrong with the house there and how much it would cost to fix it up. I'm excited, but hesitant. Cautiously optimistic.
