The idea behind it is pretty easy. Someone will give you a bag of mush with a date on it (Day 1). On Day 6, you add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk. Every day you squish the contents of the bag around and carefully let out any air bubbles that form.
On Day 10, you pour the contents of the bag into a big (non-metal) bowl and add 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of milk. Get three clean zip-top plastic bags, and measure 1 cup of the mix into each. Label them each with the date. This becomes Day 1 for these bags - and you pass two of them along to friends, family members, acquaintances, or anyone you want to share with. The third you keep for yourself to bake again in ten days.
The remaining mix in the bowl is what you'll be baking. Add in:
3 eggs
1 cup Canola, vegetable, or olive oil
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 box (5.9 ounce) instant pudding (vanilla or chocolate)
Once this is all mixed up, you can add in other things to make your bread a little different. You might add raisins, or nuts, or sliced fruit. Your imagination and tastebuds are all that hold you back. Experiment - if you don't like it, try a new flavor in ten days!
In a separate bowl, mix up 1/2 cup of sugar and 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon (or you can adjust your own cinnamon/sugar mix preference). Grease your loaf pans (this recipe makes two large loaves, or one normal loaf and four mini loaves). Use half of the cinnamon sugar mix to sprinkle in the pans (over the grease/butter). Pour your batter in, and then use the rest of your cinnamon sugar mix to sprinkle over the tops. Bake your bread for one hour at 325* (F). Let it cool until the bread separates from the sides of the pan and is easy to dump out of the loaf pan.
