Today Tony checked the PO box to see if we had any mail. Lo and behold there was a package for me!
A couple years ago I made an online connection with a lady who makes them and we worked out a trade. She'd make me a yarn bowl and I'd send her a bunch of seeds. Well, things happened on both sides. We lost touch for a while, then touched base, but it just never happened. The seeds I'd set aside were in the basement when we had water damage, and were lost. I have not heard from her in quite a while (searching her name in my email pulls up last contact in March 2016). Yikes!
So imagine my surprise and immense delight to open this package today. It's beautiful, and sure to be a cherished piece on the homestead. It is beautiful. Thank you Cat! I pulled up the old list of seeds she had wanted, and will be (hopefully) packaging them up this weekend and getting them off in the mail next week.
**Cat H. - if you see this, please let me know if you have a website or something that I can link to so other people might be able to place an order for your awesome yarn bowls!
The bread is pretty dense, but that's alright by me. It is a little heavy on the garlic (seriously, am I actually saying this??) but it's worth repeating in the future. I think it would be tasty with herb infused olive oil (which I guess I could make, but have not attempted yet). Perhaps I could play with spices to make it taste better. Unfortunately, for now I am out of bacon. Onward to another variety next time.
