Since the dirt is here, I took some time today to fill some buckets and plant some seeds. We now have eight buckets planted with Turkish Black Carrots, Little Finger Carrots, Chantenay Carrots, Livingston's Color Mix Carrots, Danvers Half Long Carrots, Hailstone Radishes, Spanish Black Radishes, and Easter Egg Radishes.
I also planted five Lemon Cucumber seeds and five Sugar Snap Peas on the darker side of the front steps. It doesn't get much light there but I had to pull a few weeds so I know growth is possible. If I can get them to grow the first foot or so, they can climb the railing on that side for better access to the sun.
I'm also very excited that I finally got a bird feeder! I'm still only getting the same three Common Grackles and one Blue Jay at the suet feeder. Perhaps this seed feeder will encourage other birds to visit.
