We got the tube feeder mounted onto the chicken coop so we can feed them easier without making a mess in the coop.
Arya got her first collar today. Tony picked out a red and black one. Yesterday I ordered her a custom ID tag from Etsy. It'll have a dire wolf sigil for House Stark (a nod to her namesake). She's still much smaller than she should be for her age. I think she may not be a purebred Saint Bernard, but my husband thinks she was just a lot younger than we were told. She was supposed to be seven or eight weeks old when we got her, but she struggled to understand her puppy food, so he thinks she was closer to 5-6 weeks old. Her eyes were brown, so I know she was old enough to not have the baby blues anymore. Either way, I suspect she's going to be a (much) smaller Saint Bernard.
The duck egg hatched, and we now have a little black duckling with a big yellow chest patch. I'm guessing it's from Raisin's group (he's a Black Swedish cross) but I could be wrong. It doesn't look like the rouen crosses we were getting last year. I'm a little sad the other duck egg didn't hatch, but it's still in the incubator in case it's just slow. This little baby may just have to be alone for a few days until the other duck eggs are set to hatch next week. I'll pick which one (or two) ducklings we will be keeping right before the new duckling arrives so it won't be alone.
I was on Facebook and one of the local rescues that I follow posted a litter of puppies they have up for adoption right now. One of them really caught my eye. I showed it to Tony and he agreed. I went to fill out an application, but then I had second thoughts. We have so many animals (it's a farm, we have animals), and we do have breeding animals (our rabbits and our sphynx cats). That disqualifies us from adopting from pretty much every animal shelter. I sent a note via their Facebook page just before they closed for the day. It says they looked at it, but they didn't reply. I'm going to check back tomorrow and see if they have gotten back to me. We're really interested in this little pup.
