I took the ham bone from our Christmas ham and made soup. Potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, and a little bit of parsley added at the end. Everyone enjoyed it, smiles all around, and we even had some left over for lunches for the next couple days.
As planned, Tony and I broke down a bunch of food into big freezer bags to make our crock pot meals this week a little easier. I'm finding myself in a bit of a rut with the same ingredients all the time, so my Mom bought be some crock pot cook books for Christmas (thanks Mom!). I had already bought these ingredients though, so this week we will continue to be boring.
Potatoes, carrots, onions, bell peppers, radishes, yellow zucchini, garlic, ginger, celery, mushrooms, poultry herbs, and meat. Just the beef portions for two crock pot meals are in the photo. The other two meals will get chicken added to the frozen bag just as soon as I get to the store to get some. We will be having one of the beef crock pot dinners tomorrow night as Tony starts his first week as Assistant Manager and works four closing shifts in a row.
