With any luck this will keep us above the 60-degree threshold for the heater to turn on. We've been holding at 71 in the house even as the temperature outside drops to 40.

The bird (below) looks like it belongs in the window among the long reaching arms of the original pothos plant.
The buff colored stray cat has been back again. Yesterday #3 and I both tried to lure it out and get a better look (on separate occasions), but neither of us had any success. That cat is definitely feral. It cries a lot though and we feel so bad for it. We do have spaces it can get out of the rain, but it doesn't want to come up to the barn or the house. We leave food out for our two barn cats, but they tend to eat it all and then nap nearby, so I doubt the other cat has the opportunity to eat, and if I put food any further out, the chickens would get it, or it could potentially attract the neighborhood skunk - and we don't want that. I guess for now we'll just keep trying to lure kitty out and gain its trust.
