We pulled up some dandelions today. The area is going to be cleared for the garden anyway and the rabbits appreciate the greens. Little #5 "helped" by stirring the dandelions in the wheelbarrow.

I read recently that a better predictor of the last frost date is actually the apple tree. When the apple trees are done blossoming, it's safe to plant your frost tender plants. The person who said this had 30+ years experience and said it only failed them once. Well, the apple trees at my parents' house are still in bloom, but many of the blossoms are starting to die back. We are expecting another dip in temperatures at the start of next week but if the apple tree prediction is right, that may be our last.
