I am in the process of narrowing down my selections for peas, beans, cucumbers, melons, squash, pumpkins, and watermelons to grow this year. As soon as I get it down to a reasonable number, they will all be planted in the raised bed out front (with a trellis on one side to help go vertical).
As I came back in from grocery shopping today, I saw this little butterfly flitting around the black raspberry bush. Poor thing looks pretty ragged, but hopefully the blossoms offer it some kind of sustenance for the time being. It's a Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) butterfly.
We should know by next weekend if we have baby bunnies (due on Sunday, June 14th). Someone has offered to sell me another female for $10. I'm not sure if we're ready for a trio just yet. I want to get there eventually, but with the garden, and training in Roland, and the possibility of another litter of kittens in July (if Mocha is pregnant), I don't know that we will have a lot of time for constant litters of bunnies like we used to. Maybe when things get settled more I'll be more confident in my multi-tasking skills. Perhaps more structured scheduling will help. Who knows. I've always been a "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of girl.
