A while ago I offered to test run this interesting cookbook idea someone had. It's a really awesome concept that I can't go into specifics about (part of the agreement), but needless to say, you get a recipe with a list of alternate ingredients and then roll dice to figure out which ingredients to use... So each recipe actually has hundreds of possibilities. I wish I could go into more detail. The author is going to be posting a Kickstarter fundraiser next month and when it's up I will definitely post a link to that. Anyway, we ran into some financial issues in January following Christmas, two birthdays, and the downturn in hours for Tony... Then we had surgery issues popping up, and last week was all about Josh and his funeral. Now that we're finally back on track (or close to it) we are hoping to get to that first recipe this week! Of course, we will each want to try it out ourselves, so we're going to have six or seven different variations of a similar recipe. I'm hoping it turns out really awesome. We will be taking photos and keeping the recipes we make - so if they turn out to be any good we can make them again (and you could too).
The taxes got updated. It says we should expect our refund soon. I'm not sure what our timeline is right now. Either we're waiting for Tony's manager bonus next month or not, but I'm not sure. I'm trying really hard not to be impatient.
And Tony is on jury duty this week. What fun. He gets to leave work early tomorrow to head to the courthouse to see if he gets pulled from the pool of potential jurors. And of course it's his manager's week off so he's supposed to be in charge of his area of the store this week. Well, they'll make it work if he has to do jury duty. As for me, I'm all kinds of weirded out by it. They told him he'd have to leave his phone in his car and that he could be there "well into the evening" for this. I hate not being able to get a hold of him in case of an emergency. It shouldn't bother me as much as it does. However did I survive the 80's and 90's when we didn't have cell phones?
Anyway, today was into the 50's again, and tomorrow the high is expected to be 57.... 57 degrees in February!!! This is just unheard of! But then it's supposed to cool down again, so I can work more on some winter sowing and dreaming about moving.
Tony suggested I write some books on pet care guides, since that's my area of expertise. Today I had spare time, so I wrote up a guide about the process before you bring home a new puppy. Boring stuff, but something to think about. I'm almost done with it now, and I'm on page 18. Not a huge book, but honestly, it shouldn't have to be given the subject material. I'm hoping to write up all kinds of books (if I have time). I love sharing knowledge. I just wonder who would buy my books when there are so many out there from other self-publishing writers. But hey, if it opens up a new revenue generating opportunity, let's try it.
