We're down to 8 days to closing. According to our contract all of the paperwork is supposed to be done by tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're all still in line for that timeline. I'm not in the contact loop with all of the people involved (insurance and mortgage writers and real estate agents). I did talk to our real estate lady yesterday, but she was asking me for an update and I don't have a clue. With Tony working full time, I'm not sure he's feeling completely in the loop at this point either. Looking it up online it seems fairly common for people to feel like this in the last week or two before closing. I guess it's all behind the scenes at this point. Typical people would probably be packing right now, getting their stuff in order, stacking boxes in the living room.
My aunt sent me a text today. I guess she had lunch with my mom yesterday and my mom told her everything in the house would be a total loss due to the odor from the septic having sat in there for weeks on end. I can't go in there to do any of the indoor chores, and yesterday #1 had an allergic reaction to being in the house long enough to feed and water the cats and water the gerbil. Yikes! I'm not sure how we're going to get our stuff out of there, or even if it's worth trying to salvage it all. I certainly don't want the new house to reek like septic because of the belongings we bring with. I also didn't plan on starting completely over. Plans remain up in the air.
22 nights in the hotel so far... 8 more days until closing.
