Today is open fishing, and while this is our third summer on the lake, I don't think I'll get a fishing license. In Minnesota, the kids under 16 can fish without a license, which gives them the option to give it a try. But it's something like $50 or $60 for a couples fishing license, and that seems a little pricey when I don't even know if there are any fish in the lake, and I rarely go anywhere else, much less to another lake for fishing. I think for now I'll just let the kids fish and if they catch anything interesting, maybe I'll go get a license after all.
Today we went to visit my mother-in-law's grave, because my husband should be included in Mother's Day too. It was a long car ride, and kids were quick to remind me why we don't take long trips anywhere. We did make it there and back, and we even stopped at an interesting (albeit very busy) restaurant that Tony wanted to go to. You go through a buffet line and fill a bowl with ingredients, and then they cook you a stir fry on a giant hibachi grill. The place was called Mongo's and it was in Waite Park, Minnesota.
