At one point the three youngest kids went out and played with the hose in their swimsuits. It was a nice break for them to get out of the house and cool off.
The washer is hooked up, so I went ahead and washed a small test load. It washed successfully! So we hung all the laundry on the single laundry line we have outside. I washed a second load, and by the time I brought it out to hang it up, the first load was dry. I washed a third and fourth load, and the second load dried, some of the third load dried and the fourth load didn't get out with enough time to dry completely. It takes a long while to dry blankets and jeans. Tony was planning to get a new dryer duct and plug to replace the one that doesn't fit our plug in, but he worked until 6pm and then had to go back for a meeting at 8:30 and we ate dinner while he was home. Hopefully it'll be up and running before bedtime and we can turn it on. The moist laundry is already in the dryer.
Admittedly, it's nice to dry the clothes outside. It uses less electricity and doesn't heat up the house at all... and it leaves the clothes smelling nice.
