We went over to my parents' house for our weekly family dinner, and the kids enjoyed playing outside with some new sling-shot light up toys. This spring we had a bad snow storm that took a branch off of a pine tree out there. It landed right into the lilac bush, which split in half and now looks pretty dead. There are several branches in there with buds, and today my parents pulled all the pine branches out of the mix. I took the opportunity to go and collect some seeds.
The price on the dream home dropped recently. I'm hoping we can put together an offer this week. I'm still crossing my fingers as it's really all hinging on Tony at this point. He's concerned that buying a house will stretch our budget to a point where we may be facing some harsh realities. I'm willing to cut back drastically, make some radical changes, and work with hard cut backs. I can work with less, and we have in the past. But then we didn't have two teenagers either (five kids eat a lot). I'm determined to make it work. Even if it means learning on the fly, taking up canning and pickling (and dehydrating and freezing) by necessity, and forgoing extra projects and expenses. Call me crazy, but I'm madly in love with this house, the location is perfect, it's an old farmhouse that's been in a single family since it was built almost 110 years ago, and it's seriously calling to me. If you're the praying type, please say a prayer for our family - we could certainly use it at this point. I'm desperately in love with this old farmhouse, and want to move this spring before planting season begins so we have a chance to get a big garden set up so we can start with our food production.
