Tony's dad is still fighting with insurance companies on who's going to pay for the clean up. He is probably going to have to take the city to court over it. Hopefully by then we're moved out and moving on. He still needs to get the heater and the water heater repaired or replaced before the home is deemed "liveable" again and we can get out of the hotel. Unless of course we can get moved into the new house before that.
The cats got out of the house finally, at least for the day. We brought them out to my parents' house. It's the first time in over a month that I've been able to really cuddle with them and handle them. Henry isn't looking very good. He's lost a lot of weight and had a goopy eye, but once I cleaned up his eye, he perked right up. He doesn't handle stress well, and he's a cat who needs daily attention or he really just can't thrive The other four look just fine and were thrilled to get attention. Everyone got nail trims and a quick clean up with a wet paper towel. They'll all need a bath before we move, but for now, with them going back to the house, I figured a quick eye and ear wipe, paw cleaning, and fur wipe would have to do.
Later today Tony heard back from our mortgage loan guy. He said he would try to get the electronic paperwork sent today or tomorrow so we can close on Friday. It didn't arrive today so we're really hoping he gets it to us tomorrow so we can get everything signed, paid for, and finalized on Friday and then we can start moving this weekend while Tony has some time off. Fingers crossed!
