I'm going to have to come up with a future garden plan for a space in the back by the driveway. I've had two people walk through my yard in the last month and that makes me very uncomfortable. Maybe if I plan a garden space in the area where people seem to think they can walk, it will prevent them from doing so. Wishful thinking perhaps, but worth the attempt to make me feel more secure. I'll have to watch for when more of the construction blocks go on sale again. It will also mean that I won't be able to use the side garden beside the garage as the raised bed will effectively block out the area, and anything growing very tall will shade out anything I could've planted back there anyway. I think I'll take a loss on a shaded border garden for a chance at a safer feeling home.
Tonight the low is only 41, but I still covered the plants just after dusk. This should be the last time I need to cover them. If I can get time tomorrow, the plan is to open all of the containers and free the seedlings to the direct sunlight and breeze. Highs for the ten day forecast show all 70's except for tomorrow (67). With any luck, I can have all of the winter sown seedlings planted in the gardens by next weekend!
