So then I went outside and did modified bunny chores. I gave everyone hay and water, thinking I'd feed them once we had them settled at the new house. It was meant well.
My Mom and my brother didn't show up with the trailer until mid-afternoon, and we didn't get it loaded until it was time for Tony to go get the UHaul. We didn't leave with the first load until after 5:30. And we could only fit five cages into the inside of the vehicle. I realized this was a much bigger move than we anticipated.
We got to the new house with the first load, and put the bicycles, fence pieces, cinder blocks, turtle tank (which got dropped when Mom tripped over a bike loading it up), and first round of rabbits in the barn. Set up the gate below the garage door to give them air flow, and headed back. By the time we got back it was past 8:00pm, and my mom and brother decided to call it a day. They were tired and hungry (as was I).
So tonight, Snowflake and her babies, Jensen, Hodor, Elsa, and Little Black are out in the barn at the new house. Everyone else is still at the old house (where we still are). I hate having the herd split up, and I hate not being there in case anything happens. Leaving a garage door propped open isn't safe in the long run, and since there was a young skunk on the property when we pulled in, I worry what may be able to get into the barn to get my poor unsuspecting rabbits.
Tony swears he's leaving tomorrow at 1pm in the UHaul with whatever we've loaded. We only have it until 5pm, so whatever gets moved is what we've got. Anything else will have to be toted back and forth in the van or try to work it out with my brother or one of my parents to use their trailer. We still didn't manage to get the play-set moved and that's pretty big. Tony spent most of today tearing it apart.
Needless to say, I'm exhausted. I got home, put the tarps up on the bunnies (it's going to rain tonight and all tomorrow), and fell asleep. Tony woke me up to give me a sandwich, I barely remember waking up enough to eat it before passing out again. I'm typing this up at 2:30am because the dog woke me up to go outside. It's raining.
Back to bed I go. Tomorrow is going to be even more heavy lifting and running.
