I did get a small harvest from the garden today. Two Lemon Boy tomatoes, one Sweet 100's tomato, and one half rotten miniature bell pepper. It seems none of my peppers did well this year except the Banana Rama and Sweet Bananas, but those are nearly done for the season already.
Tony picked up some big jingle bells the other day and I just had to see how it would look finished. Here's my first attempt. One front foot in a bell cap. I need to get some glue to secure it in place, but it looks nice.
While refilling water dishes and putting hay in the grow out cages, I snapped a couple blurry photos of Octavius. He's such a handsome fella. His wavy coat has turned into the short soft coat of a rex. He was definitely checking me out when I came to the grow out pen with an arm-load of hay. I just wish the photos were more in focus. Perhaps I can take some fresh photos tomorrow or Sunday in daylight.
My Auntie was the best hostess on the planet, always wanted to feed everyone, made sure you were full before you left, clean house, and just the most amazing woman. She passed away several years ago, and I miss her terribly. She made the best fried rice... and lumpia. Oh, I miss Filipino food. Anyway, it sets the bar pretty high as far as being a good hostess goes. And I'm afraid tomorrow, the first time my Uncle has ever come to visit us at our own house, I will fail miserably.
I may just stay up late tonight tidying up. How many times can one wipe the counters and sweep the floor before it's *really* clean? All joking aside, I do plan to at least clean off the stove top and put away the dishes from the dish drainer before they come. I mean, we aren't barbarians after all.
