The white doe is Babylon (you could call her Babs or Baby for short), named for the "hanging gardens" of Babylon. She is getting longer fur already, so I suspect she's going to be growing a lionhead coat in the next few weeks. She does not climb out of the box on her own, so while her brothers are pranching around the kitchen and nibbling apples, she's still in the nest box with the smaller babies. She also is the last to discover the water bowl. She is still not interested in it at this point, but I will continue to make it available to her so when she is ready, it's there. She's a little princess. Calm, quiet, a good reading companion.
After much deliberation, I decided to let #5 pick a name for the black bunny. I read off a long list of ruins, and he decided Tikal was a good name. So Tikal it is, named after a Mayan ruin in Guatemala. Tikal is the instigator, the first to escape the box, the first to nibble pellet food, and the first to drink water from a bowl. He's #5's favorite and gets handled for hours every day. Nothing phases this bunny. He's not afraid of the dog, the kids, or being carried around by small hands. He never kicks or scratches, but when left to his own devices, he does kick up his heels and hop around. A couple of times we've found him in the living room, exploring after escaping the box in the kitchen.
