My parents decided that this year, instead of buying us Christmas gifts, they would replace our stove. Admittedly there was a little bit of personal gain there because it means they get our old stove, and since they have natural gas, they can use it. Win win for everyone!
Today my dad came by with the new stove and the chest freezer Tony just bought (for our farm-grown foods), and they disconnected the old stove and hauled in the new one.
We were on a tight schedule though, as I also had an appointment to meet someone to swap critters. I traded five rabbits for five ducks. I'm so excited; we now have a Silver Appleyard drake, a white Indian Runner drake, and a Pekin hen. We also added a mallard hen (who looks a lot like our Dashi and her daughter Happy Feet - both rouen hens), and a mystery breed drake who is black with a green head and a speckled chest patch.
