Mail today brought two more Secret Santa packages. Tigger melon, zinnias, lupine, butternut squash, rainbow mix carrots, Rosemary and more, plus a little journal and some stickers.
Yesterday was the first time I noticed that Amos is noticeably smaller than the other kittens. When I held him he was fast asleep and twitched and kicked in my hand but didn't wake up. Maybe I'm being a little over-vigilant, but I worry for him. It occurred to me today that Amos is solid white. Solid white cats have an increased chance of being deaf. Since he was born without eyes, and is going to be genetically predisposed to the disease momma Zombie is dealing with (where she has to have all of her teeth pulled), being deaf on top of that will make Amos a very special cat if he can survive. Today I noticed that Amos is slower than the other kittens. He's not as active as they are. I try to remind myself that they are four days older than he is and that they're just starting to be active and move around more, but still I worry. Little Amos seems to have the deck stacked against him, but I adore him. He's my favorite. I'm really rooting for him.
