They're all spread out to cure now. They should be ready in 2-3 weeks (10/30-11/6). By then perhaps the potato plant in the tire tower will have died back and we can harvest and cure whatever we find in there as these potatoes are coming off the drying areas.
Depending on the results of that experiment, I may go farther the next year to see if splitting the original bag of seed potatoes into four or five towers is more productive. I'd like to see how many potatoes per tower produces the highest yield potential.
And of course, that's just playing with "All Blue" potatoes. I could repeat the experiment with other varieties too. And the best part? If I ever get so many potatoes that I can't use them all (unlikely with such a large family, but possible if I go all in on this project) the extras can always be sold at a farmer's market, sold to a co-op or CSA, or donated to the local food shelf or soup kitchen.
