After rearranging my plant shelf yesterday, I decided that I want to have an inventory of how many of which plants I have. I know some of the tomato varieties I planted didn't come up, so I'd like to know which ones I should replant before it's too late to start them. I ordered my last batch of seeds today, so once everything arrives in the mail, I should be set! I can only think of one other variety that I want to try and I will look for that when I head back to Fleet Farm to buy another seed starter tray (or two). I really jumped into gardening with both feet - I just hope it all turns out well and we can feed our family for less by growing our own! Maybe I can get my full inventory list done this week while I wait for the seeds to arrive. Then I'll know what to plant and could do my planting this weekend if nothing else comes up. Assuming of course that all of the seeds arrive this week.
I mentioned in yesterday's blog about the record bowls I was attempting. I'd like to share photos of my awful attempt, Tony's first attempt, and Tony's very nice looking (but unruffled) attempt (which I would consider a success). I may repeat this craft project in the future, since I already have records, and these ones skipped or wouldn't play anyway, so there's really no loss other than my time on these. However, this was the last of the "broken records" that I've come across so far, so another attempt will have to wait until I find another skipping record. Tony reminded me that the pretty ruffled pieces I've been looking at are made from full albums, and I'm working with 45s, and that may be the difference. Is it possible to make a 45 into a pretty ruffled dish? I'm not sure; maybe I will find out one day. Or I could see how much an album is at the local thrift store and try a big one.
