We had pizza for dinner tonight. They were on sale, 5 for $9.95, and it only takes 2-3 to feed our family. That's only about $4-6 for the meal which breaks down to just 57-86 cents per person. You really can't beat that outside of gardening season (veggies are free if you grow them yourself). And of course if you are careful to keep the cardboard circle clean it becomes a frisbee for after-dinner antics.
Eggs were on sale for 75-cents per dozen so we picked up a couple of those too.
I've come to the conclusion that we go through altogether too much food.
Alice escaped again. I suspect she's just bumping the door and it's falling open because it only had the original closure on it, which just slides down a bit over the door in one place. She's a big rabbit and she can really shake the hutch when she chooses to which can bump that clip up and off the door, allowing it to fall open. I went out today and put an extra clip on the door to prevent it from happening again. I'm glad I checked on the other cages because two of them were also unlatched! Both of the other cages have extra latches but both had the extra latches off the cage. Luckily no other escapees. I can't wait until it warms up and I can resume doing the rabbit chores myself. Call me picky, but I value keeping my rabbits safe and confined and clearly the kids doing the chores isn't working properly.
