While I was snipping branches I came across the cutest little grey tree frog. I gently scooped him up and carried him to a nearby apple tree where he happily climbed off my hand and made himself comfortable on a new branch. I then managed to pinch myself with the trimming shears, resulting in two small blood blisters. I may have to put a band-aid over them to keep myself from picking at them, and to provide extra padding as I deal with brush tomorrow.
Tomorrow it's supposed to get up to 80, so I'm hoping to be able to open all of the remaining winter sown containers before I head out to prevent the seedlings from burning.
Today I also researched and narrowed down my selections for what peas, beans, watermelon, squash, pumpkin and cucumber varieties I will be planting in the bigger raised bed (the one that is now ready to plant as soon as I install the net trellis). Now I just have to figure out where each variety will go and what to plant as companions (herbs? flowers? more veggies?).
