We got most of the play set up now. It's missing one of the two roof pieces and the swing set portion isn't connected yet. That's alright too, since the swings are still at the old house.
While checking out the west part of the yard #3 spotted red in a tree. We have an apple tree, full of not-quite-ripe-yet apples! Most apples require a second tree for pollination, but we can't seem to find one on the property. More searching may be needed.
I found two duck houses, one still functional and the other damaged when the tree it was attached to fell. Again, perhaps when time allows, the broken duck house can be repaired and attached to another tree.
While out on the little peninsula, we found some of these beautiful orange flowers along the very edge of the water. A quick internet search identified them as Spotted Touch-Me-Not (Impatiens capensis) or Orange Jewelweed. It's said to be the antedote to poison ivy and stinging nettle. Not a bad thing to have on the homestead.
