On our drive out to my parents' house, I noticed lots and lots of small trees covered in white flowers. They were here and there, tucked among the woods as we drove, a few bigger hedges of them, but mostly just one here and one there, but all over the place. I wondered what they were. When we got out there, I noticed they had the same flowering shrubs. I went out into the woods and took a closer look. Each tree was no taller than 15 feet, and no wider than a broom handle. The flowers were white with five petals each, and the leaves were serrated. I took some photos to help me ID them.
We finally made it out to the house during daylight to do rabbit chores. Yesterday there was a boil warning for city water due to some issues with the pipes losing pressure somewhere. Fortunately the boil order only lasted 24 hours so it was safe to water bunnies again today. I did snap a particularly adorable photo of Kevin, the big bunny from Charlotte's litter.
I watered the winter sown containers, but only peeked in a few. A dozen rhubarb, over a dozen apples, a few pear trees, some cantaloupe, one German chamomile sprout, some parsley, German thyme, dill, and a few other odds and ends. No tomatoes yet, which worries me a little. Tony said he saw one pepper and one hazelnut trying to peek out of the dirt. I didn't look in either of those containers, but I hope it's true.
