I did manage to spend a few hours with my dearest friend whom I have not seen in several years. She was visiting from out of state, and I am so glad my back allowed me that window of time to catch up with her. Of course, the rest of the evening seemed like payback for the extra hour I was out without pills. I'm starting to feel like a junkie - I can't go places or do things because I have to have access to ibuprofen or acetaminophen every four hours.
The worst part if not being able to pick things up. The chores are going by the wayside, and stuff just isn't getting done. With Tony working full time and me down and out, I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do when my back gets better (soon I hope).
I did manage to sneak a few minutes outside today. I have been on bunny watch waiting for new babies, so I had to slip out and check the nest boxes. But first, a couple garden updates (bunny update are below the garden photos).
The other day #4 asked me if I knew I had a "watermelon" growing... She then lifted up a leaf to expose a small round fruit. It's not exactly a watermelon, it's actually called a Kajari melon and it's supposed to turn orange where the dark green is now. I was hoping for more than one fruit, but it looks like we will all be sharing this one to get a taste. It may be one of only two melons we get this year, and both look like they will be tiny.
In other bunny news, one of the white babies from the "I" litter has a face injury. It looks like baby decided to put his/her face through the bars into another cage and got bit. Bunny doesn't seem to have an issue eating or drinking, there's no fly issues, and as awful as it looks, bunny seems OK. I will watch it and make sure it's healing up on it's own. I suspect it will turn out jut fine and bunny will look normal as he/she grows. Warning, the photo below looks bad, and may cause some viewers discomfort. Scroll down with caution.
