So I texted Tony to come back and pick us up. It took him 35 minutes to come drop us off, and 35 minutes to get back home, just for him to have to turn around an hour later to make the same drive and we could leave empty-handed.
What makes me all the more disappointed is that I checked their Facebook page this morning and they stated the sale was still going on as planned and there was no indication of any issues. I'm frustrated that we wasted hours of our time and a tank of gas running back and forth for absolutely nothing. Had they just put on their page that they were rescheduling, we could have saved ourselves the hassle. Now I see why they don't charge a seating fee like the other auction guy who does the exotic sales. I won't be going to their auctions in the future. I'll drive further and pay the seating fee to go to the other auction.
As we were getting back into the vehicle to leave I called Tractor Supply, but - no surprise - they have no ducklings, and said the chicks are nearly sold out. By the time we could drive the 40 minutes to get there, they'd be sold out anyway.
I'm frustrated. I'm disappointed. Part of me just wants to curl up and cry. It's been a rough day.
Our mystery box of chicks comes next week. At least I'll have that to look forward to. I *really* hope they send up some ducklings. Otherwise it's $82.65 to buy the box with 4 goslings and 6 ducklings. Maybe I should have just started with that box... but I can't resist the opportunity for a surprise.
