About an hour after we gave up searching, a friend of mine tagged me in a post on Facebook in a group I rarely check. Someone had found a bunny the night before in our area, and they were looking for the owner. And there was our George, in a photo posted by the finder, relaxed in a dog kennel. Within thirty minutes Tony was off to go pick up our George bunny. Turns out the guy that found him is one of our neighbors, and someone I remember from high school (never spoke to him but I remember he was a few years ahead of me in high school). He renamed George and said he was the cuddliest bunny he'd ever met. I just laughed. Yeah, our bunnies are pretty nice.
So it turns out that the day before, when #2 had gone to feed and water bunnies, he forgot to latch George's cage properly. As a result, George had an adventure that lasted over 24 hours, met the neighbor and their dogs, and got a new nickname. I'm just glad we have him back.
Today the mail brought us some more new seeds! We have now added:
Winter Density Lettuce
Blonde de Paris Lettuce
Amarillo Oro Melon
Banana Melon
All Sweet Watermelon
Caloro Pepper
Yellow Devil Pepper
Green Striped Crookneck Cushaw Squash
And they sent a bonus packet with about a dozen "mixed basil" seeds. This order only ran me about $8, so not a bad haul for less than ten dollars!
