#1 is being Eren Jaeger (I hope I spelled that right) from Attack on Titan. #2 is being a unicorn. #3 is being a dragon rider (a character she made up for a book she's planning to write). #4 has the only purchased costume and is Mal from Disney's Descendants. #5 is being a witch. I'm so proud of them for working hard to create costumes in new ways, with minimal purchases. #1 already had the costume from a cosplay she did last year, #2 got a head piece, but put the rest together. #3 painted her own shirt and just has a purchased cape. And #5 is using the kitchen broom and a witch hat he got last year. He insists that witches should wear green, so we did pick up a new outfit for him, but it's nothing Halloween specific so he can wear it after Halloween too.
This morning we took a trip to the vet with Henry and Zombie. I suspect both have some bladder issues going on as I've noticed some blood in urine. They're both going to be on antibiotics for ten days just to be sure we clear it all up.
Zombie was diagnosed with Feline Oral Resorptive Lesions, a disease (of unknown cause) that causes her body to try to reabsorb her teeth. They said she may be pregnant, which I suspected (she should be due in December). This will be her last litter. We will get her spayed and have her teeth pulled (per the vet's diagnosis and treatment plan) once she's had her kittens. I never meant her to be a breeding cat, I just hadn't gotten around to having her spayed. Now I'm glad I waited so they can do the tooth removal at the same time and she'll only have to be anesthetized once.
While there I talked to the vet about our other male cat (Netherquartz) starting to guard the litter box and bully Henry, and that it might be time to get him neutered and find him a new home. We've had Henry longer and he is the priority to stay here. They said they had just had a cancellation and had an opening for tomorrow morning. Guess who's getting neutered tomorrow... Netherquartz! We can pick him up again on Friday, and from there on he will be available for adoption to anyone who is seriously interested in an affectionate kitty with stunning blue eyes. He's only three years old.
He really is a nice cat. He's affectionate but not annoying, he's soft-footed, doesn't use his claws on people, doesn't spray, generally does well with all the kids and dog and other cats. He just has an issue with Henry - most likely because they're both currently not neutered and have ladies around them. He's got pretty blue eyes and is white with blue spots over both ears, his tail, over his right eye and on his chin, and a few spots on his nose. He has all of his claws, and uses a scratching post / kitty tree. Aside from the fact that he's furry (and #1 is more allergic to him than the other cats) and the whole not letting Henry use the litter box issue... I've seen him swipe at Henry a couple times too, and because he's quite a bit larger than Henry, poor Henry doesn't stand a chance and backs down. My only requirements for a new home are that he be kept indoors only, as he's never been outside, and that he never be declawed. He will also go with a return contract requiring he come back to me if the selected owner can't or doesn't want to keep him anymore.
Anyone interested in a second-hand cat?
