Follow the Basic White recipe. Add four completely brown mushy bananas, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
The bread came out a little sticky in the center, but I'm told that's the best part. It certainly made the entire kitchen smell of banana bread!
Today I got my order from SeedsNow. I wanted to try my hand at growing garlic, so I picked two varieties (Silver Rose and Nootka Rose) as my first varieties. I also bought some Green Marrow Squash seeds, and they sent us Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard as a free bonus! Want to get some garlic too? They also have a nice selection of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds! Go check them out HERE. We get a percentage of your purchases when you use our link.
Yesterday I sanitized the turtle's cage. She's miserable in that little plastic tote bin. I need to set up her big 55 gallon tank, but the insurance still hasn't paid out for the flood last April, so I haven't been able to replace her big stand. I've been putting it off because I figure about the time I get the tank set back up (on the ground), and filled with water, the insurance will pay out the claim and I'll have to figure out how to empty the tank so I can pick it up and put it on the new stand.
Today we tried something new. I had the table cleared and wiped down, then I put a variety of snacks on it and told the kids when they got home that we were all going to sit down and finish our homework while we had our after school snacks... And they actually did it! We had all homework done within an hour of the kids getting home, including spelling tests, and all the snack wrappers were right there at the table (where they should be) because nobody snuck off with them! It worked so well, I'm going to try to do it again tomorrow!
