I managed to get barn chores done before my mom came to pick us up this afternoon. I sold Clover, the bunny that was returned from the first batch of colony bunnies. Next litter of babies will be available starting Saturday! Fern's babies will be six weeks old. They're all does and have been given Y names.
Yesterday when I did bedtime checks on the animals I found a fresh nest of very new babies in the colony. Spot had delivered three black and four white or spotted kits. I snapped a photo and left them be. As of this morning there is one additional little tort bun in there, and one of the pink/white babies has a damaged foot (likely mom bit it white chewing umbilical cord. If it survives I don't see how it will keep the foot, and it's more likely it will die. Sad, but one of those things you just can't prevent.
But in the end it's all good. Tony got off half an hour early, we got to spend some time together out of the house, and I got to have dinner with my parents. I'm beat and ready for bed. I've got plenty on my To Do list for tomorrow!
