Mabel is back in heat. Silly cat never has regular cycles. I'm hoping Henry does his job and we have better results this go round. I've had a couple people ask me about kitten availability lately. They seem to be doing a lot better since I've moved them to the big cage instead of allowing them free-roam of the house. They're happy in there. I suppose I would be too, the cage is huge and full of fun things (boxes and toys).
Which brings me to a small worry... The house we're looking at is very small. There's little room for extras that are not absolutely necessary. I've already selected a place we could put Minnow (our red eared slider turtle) in the laundry room, and we can cram the fish tank into the living room since we plan on having a couple desks in there instead of actual furniture (couches are over-rated anyway). There is definitely no place to put a massive 6-foot long by 2+ foot deep floor to ceiling multi-level cage. While some of the cats are good house guests, one or two of them (particularly Zombie) like to "think outside the box" and don't always use the litter box when they're running free around the house (hence why we built the kitty castle in the first place). I don't want to have to get rid of the cats; I think pet ownership is a serious commitment. I'm just not sure how we're going to make it work yet.
It seems every time the kids do the rabbit chores or help with the rabbit chores we have escapees over the next 24 hours... Might be time for a refresher course on how to latch the cages! I can't wait until we have an enclosed barn to keep them in!
