We already have two "Pink Lemonade" blueberries, two white "Snowbank" blackberries, two kinds of yellow raspberries (Anne x1, and Fall Gold x3), Purple Viking potatoes, and two Viking Aronia bushes ordered for spring delivery. The two (Kieffer) pear, two (Contender) peach, and one (Methley) plum tree are in the unheated entry way awaiting the eventual thaw that will allow us to dig holes for them. I also have some Canoe Creek Colossal melon, and Sweet Dakota Rose watermelon seeds in the mail on their way.
Today we stopped by the feed store to buy a 5-gallon waterer for the brooder (they're sucking through the quart feeders every few hours). While there, I stopped by the garden section and picked up Catawba grape, Concord grape, Arapaho Blackberry, Jersey blueberry, and Pixwell Pink gooseberry. They were on sale for $5.51 each. Not bad for something that will provide food for many years to come.
I'm pretty sure that just leaves me to find a lilac bush.
We have pears, apples, and rhubarb in the winter sown containers, so we should be set for now. As soon as it's all thawed out there, we can get the potatoes, onions, garlic, asparagus, and strawberries planted and set up. I'm getting antsy for summer weather, dirt under my bare feet, and sunshine on my skin.
That said, looks like we're getting more snow this weekend...
