After coffee and a bit of crying, I decided to keep myself busy. I decided to clean the bathroom / laundry room. I wiped down the walls, cleaned the shower and the bathtub, cleaned the hand sink and the utility sink, wiped down the washer and dryer, swept, and cleaned the mirror. I scooped the litter box, wiped down the cupboard doors and handles, washed the windows, wiped down the cabinet under the sink, and took out the bathroom garbage.
Then I decided to wash all of the dishes, wash the table, sanitize the dog's water bucket, wipe down counters, and take out the kitchen trash. I pulled some chicken out to thaw for dinner, and added ice to the cooler with the rabbits from yesterday. I went out and did rabbit chores, dumped out the kiddie pool and rinsed and re-filled it, played with Gypsy for a while, and then swapped out one of the water bottles with a new bottle as the old one wasn't working properly. Re-filled some more bunny waters for those who needed a refill, and came back in. I folded and put away all the laundry from the dryer and have another load in the washer now. I made some lemonade and put it in the fridge to keep cool.
As I write this there's still another hour before Tony gets off work, and then he has to go pick up kids before he comes home. I've always got a never-ending list of stuff to do, but I think so far I've done pretty well. We had a couple brief rain storms come through today. It got pretty cloudy and dark a couple times, but it didn't rain enough for the entryway roof to leak. Josh, Tweak, and Leonardo seem to enjoy standing out in the rain and foraging in the grass through the storms.
Tomorrow is the first day of school in a new school district. The kids are anxious and nervous and I'm sure they'll have butterflies that keep them up half the night. Six o'clock comes all too soon, so when they get home it'll be last-minute backpack packing, picking out clothes for tomorrow, and taking baths and showers before bed.
