We had several rough spots today with five kids shuffling between two rooms. #5 needs constant supervision, but #4 wants constant supervision, while #1, #2, and #3 don't need or want attention at all. Despite having one computer, three televisions (one with a Roku, one with a DVD player with Netflix, and one just with cable TV), and three hand-held electronic devices between the two rooms plus the oldest three having cell phones... plus board games and reading books, coloring books, dice games, a deck of cards, and access to an exercise room (for the oldest two), they still can't help but squabble. It's going to be a long summer if we have to stay in the hotel much longer. They do so much better when they can go outside to play. With no way to play outside, no playground, no park, no ability to ride bikes, no garden space... we are very excited for any updates from either house at this point. Hopefully we get something figured out this week - one way or the other.
This evening we went and worked on cleaning up the yard. #1 mowed the lawn, #3 and I worked on pulling the weeds and grass out of the back garden space, while #4 and #5 played on the playset and #2 gave his rabbit some out-of-cage time in the big kennel in the grass. I put Feather in with Sushi in hopes of getting some nice tricolor babies. Feather is the only breeding age doe that hasn't had a litter for us yet. I hope to put another doe in to breed tomorrow, but I haven't decided which one yet.
I really have to get to work with inventorying the basement stuff for insurance, but with one computer and five kids that can't be left to their own devices... It's not progressing as fast as I had hoped.
Tomorrow the pool is open until noon. The kids want to go swimming again. We didn't get to go tonight. I'll have to sit it out as I will have Moose, but because they'll need adult supervision, I guess Moose and I will be at the waterpark tomorrow. He did well last time we went. He's a little nervous at first, but he settles in after a while.
